Day 1 of Garfield’s Hispanic Heritage Spirit Week was a colorful success! Students and staff proudly showed their spirit by wearing the colors of Hispanic and Latin American flags. It was wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latin American countries. Last week, Garfield proudly hosted our first Title I Meeting and Quarterly Family Engagement Night: Literacy Night! Families had the opportunity to visit classrooms where teachers brought stories to life through interactive read-alouds and engaging, book-based activities. Students and parents also enjoyed shopping at our Scholastic Book Fair, helping to foster a love of reading both at school and at home. Thank you to all the families who joined us for an evening of literacy, learning, and community!

🎉 Literacy Night is this Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 PM! Join us for an evening full of fun literacy activities, learning opportunities, and take-home ideas to help make reading enjoyable both at school and at home. Our teachers have planned exciting activities for every grade level, and families will also have the opportunity to shop at the Book Fair during the event.
